Woburn, Bedfordshire Non-conformist register
Woburn, Bedfordshire Non-conformist register
The entry in the register of the Independent Chapel at Woburn records only the first 7 of Joseph Sibthorpe's children. It was started in 1810/11 although it contains later additions. The register covers the period from 1791 to 1837. On p33 it records for the Church Meeting of July 4th 1806: "Mr Sibthorpe of Aspley, Beds was admitted a member to full communion." with an undated comment added later "Withdrawn 1 John 2=19" ("They went out from us, but they did not really belong to us. For if they had belonged to us, they would have remained with us; but their going showed that none of them belonged to us.") This was presumably before 1818 when Edwin was born.
